Dental Laboratory Technology 11th  & 12th 

 

Dental Technicians improve both a patient’s appearance and quality of life by creating dentures, bridges, crowns, orthodontic appliances and other prostheses that are needed or desired for cosmetic reasons.

 

Career opportunities in Dental Technology include working in a dental office, laboratories and hospitals. Technicians can also become lab owners, become instructors in vocational training courses, work as manufacturing representative sand in dental sales.

 

 

Course Description

This two year program uses state of the art equipment, experienced teacher and hands-on instruction. The cluster prepares students for a successful career in dental technology. Classes cover basic techniques for dental prosthesis fabrication. Students learn the basic skills needed to work in a dental lab.  They subsequently become skilled in making dentures, metal partials, crowns and bridge work.

 

Eligibility

The course is open to juniors and seniors who have successfully completed all of the following prerequisites:

  • Anatomy and Physiology

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Health Science Clinical

  • Health Science Diagnostic

  • Principles of Health Science

Dental Laboratory Technology 1 is required to enroll in Dental Laboratory Technology 2

 

Internship

This two year program prepares students to become qualified Dental Laboratory Technicians with in-house internships.
