Principles of Health Science 9th

 

Course Description

 

This course provides an introduction to many aspects of Healthcare. Ninth graders explore over 400 health careers and interact with professionals in this core class. They are introduced to basic anatomy and physiology and medical terminology. In addition, they take Pre-AP Biology and Health Education. Students will explore the careers in the fields of therapeutics, informatics, diagnostics, support services and biotechnology.

Health Science Clinical & Diagnostic 10th

 

Course Description

Tenth graders obtain the general knowledge and basic skills needed for entry into advanced clusters from a team of teachers representing a wide spectrum of expertise. They also take Pre-AP Chemistry and Anatomy and Physiology.

 

HST Clinical provides an introduction into allied health care field, review legal and ethical responsibilities of the health care provider and begin preparing for patient care skills.

 

HST Diagnostic provides an introduction to laboratory skills. Students are prepared to enter a career into a diagnostic field.
